About the Environmental Department
The Environmental department was officially set from the beginning of the year 2022. The school saw an essence of having this department due to the environmental crisis happening such as increase in the global warming and climate change that keeps affecting the economic state of the world keeps facing currently. Bad enough, the most vulnerable group of all people who become more impacted by these current shifts are children and fact that they are in Africa, which makes them even most vulnerable to such shifts due to the state of the continent’s economy and social development which requires more assistance and support to cope with such crises.
The schools saw the need to have a platform where young children could be exposed to proper environmental conservation trainings, learning process and activities in order to be present and adoptive to the changes in order to participate fully in the decision-making arena over their future economy, social and physical growth regardless of environmental fatal changes happening around them such as climate change and global warming.
The objectives guiding the department includes;
- Develop an Environmental education curriculum that will be used at school for Environmental lessons in class.
- Create an environmentally friendly place at school for learners to sustainably enjoy it through infrastructural improvements.
- Facilitate different environmental projects that will be done by the school
- Attain Zero Waste through proper school’s waste management
- Contribute to global warming reduction and in taking climate action
- Biogas Production Project
